Ilfracombe Academy has had fantastic sporting acheivement this week as both girls and boys have beaten off fierce competition from local schools to triumph in their respective sports.
On Tuesday year 7 boys played a football match away at Chumleigh, they played really well in difficult conditions to record yet another victory. The final score was 5-1, Zai Hardiman was awarded man of the match his hold up play really helped the team create chances in the final third.
The North Devon Schools cross country championship was held at Great Torrington and keenly contested by lots of local schools.
The course was wet and difficult as it covered lots of different terrian, making it a tough run for all involved. The year 7 girls all ran amazingly well and finshed in the top twenty (80 competitors per race), subsequently they lifted the girls championship for their age group. As winners of the North Devon Schools they will go onto participate in the regional finals.
